Michelle Perkins Frazier

Owner, CEO, Director
Nanny’s Nook Quality Day Care Center

I would like to first welcome you to my website and into Nanny's Nook Quality Daycare Center.  Who am I?
I am passionate, committed and dedicated to providing QUALITY childcare for the community. Without a doubt, committed to preparing children for academic success, fostering high self-esteem, respecting themselves and being responsible.
I believe in the importance of providing quality childcare. My responsibility as a minority child care business owner.  Everything that I do is to foster and promote quality childcare that can help create a positive change in our community.  Our children learn from examples placed in front of them.  My emphasis of respect, responsibility, education, and structure provides an atmosphere that nurtures the social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth of children.  It is my goal to leave some of my passion with all the children and families that enter my facility.   My motto is,“If you want a child’s mind to grow …. You must first plant a seed!”

How Nanny's Nook Quality Day Care Center Began

Inspired to Change A Community One Child At A Time

My Personal Road to Success

I've been a  New York State licensed  Child Care Center owner. I've served the community of Buffalo  for seventeen years. My career began began as a New York State licensed Group Family Child Care Provider  for fourteen years. Three years ago, I took a leap of faith with "ZERO" funding from outside sources and purchased 1495 Jefferson Avenue. I rehabbed and made it to the beautiful building it is today. As a minority woman I am proud of my accomplishment because I hope to inspire another woman in the same profession it is possible.

Why I began Nanny's Nook Quality Day Care Center?

I chose the field of child care because I could incorporate everything that is endearing to me!  Childcare allowed me to have my children with me. Childcare also allowed me to:

  1.  Emphasize the importance of educating children.  Teaching them life-long lessons (respect, responsibility, “Good Decisions”)

  2. Provide a service that will have a positive impact in the community

  3. Promote and provide a service that nurtures the social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth of children in a safe, clean, caring, organized, respectful, responsible environment.

  4. Provide quality childcare that was once reserved for the “elite”

  5. Financial stability

My Inspirations

My Mom, Ina R. Frazier-Perkins.  Her beautiful, kind, loving, supportive spirit. A natural nurturer. My first cheer leader!

Rose L. Hargrave, one of my elementary Teacher.  She was fierce, beautiful and motivating.  She encouraged me to do my best, and be my best, at all times. She facilitated an experience that had a life-long impact on me as a child. I decided as a child in her classroom, that I wanted to become “that” person! I wanted to make all children feel the way she made me feel.  Important, valued and significant.  It was my crystallizing moment.

Personal Mantra:

I AM INVOLVED TO EVOLVE!

Future:

Expand my facility, increase capacity, create more jobs & travel.
